Experience Maui’s closest, most intimate whale encounters with our small-group ocean rafts.
We booked the sunrise tour and the second tour of the day two days apart to make sure we were able to get out on the water in good weather and hopefully see some whales. We had a great crew both days and saw whales very close to the boat both days. We sat near the front both times and never had any splashing or worries about getting wet on the zodiac boat. We told family this is must do for their trip that they are in the process of booking. This is a locally owned and locally staffed company just south of the Old Lahaina Luau. Jill & Casey were phenomenal guides and extremely knowledgeable! We had a blast and spotted so much due to their in-depth knowledge in the area and patterns of nature. They also kept us fed and happy with fresh fruit and goodies ready soon as we got out of the water. We wanted a more intimate experience and they offered something we could not have gotten with a bigger group tour — highly recommend you give them a go!
This was such a great experience. Whales were all around us. We saw them breach, dive down, pectoral fin slap and Captain Chad let us listen to them from under water.

This was, by far, my favorite excursion on Maui. We love to snorkel and had never been to Lanai before, where the reef is so healthy and beautiful. The colors are vibrant and the fish are so plentiful! We saw dolphins the way and paused to enjoy their traveling around us. We saw soooooo many turtles! The all female crew was so knowledgeable and fun to spend the day with; great sense of humor and excellent playlist (shoutout to Rhys!). Highly recommend and look forward to going with them again next time.
Very kind workers. Lexi was hilarious and very friendly with us. They knew all the good spots. Saw a beautiful coral reef, a massive pod of dolphins, and ended with sea turtles and sharks. They also had sodas, muffins, fruits, and cookies for our morning snorkel session.
I’ve had the pleasure of going out with Ultimate Whale Watch & Snorkel multiple times during whale season and on snorkel excursions, and every outing has been an absolute delight. The experience Ultimate gives on their trips is what truly sets them apart. Each trip features attentive, enthusiastic crew members - Their crew member Casey is fantastic , she is so sweet and incredibly knowledgeable ! Highly recommend booking a trip with them !
